MI Windows and Doors has partnered with Slide Works, Inc.

October 1, 2014, Tempe, Arizona - MI Windows and Doors has partnered with Slide Works, Inc. in developing a new thermally efficient, multi-slide door with structural rating of LC-25. Slide Works specializes in the design and fabrication of sliding door systems and is recognized for its patent pending innovative track system, which allows the rollers on MIWD’s EnergyCore™ doors to slide effortlessly along the frame. Interlocking frame components increase ease of operation, function, and installation, promoting a complete and integrated frame system.

EnergyCore multi-slide door panels are made with MikronWood and feature tall bottom rails and wide styles with mortise and tenon joinery, offering true traditional style and time-tested craftsmanship. MikronWood is a solid-core material that combines the beauty of wood with the durability, weather-resistant and no-maintenance advantages of a composite. The solid-core material is rot-proof and impervious to insects, moisture, and humidity, making it ideal in all climate types. The Tire-on-Wheel rolling system made with dual-machined composite tires, stainless-steel wheels and precision bearings, perform in tandem with the innovative track providing a smooth, quiet, and effortless rolling system.

Born from military infrared reflective technology, the SuperCapSR™ color coating is designed to prevent profile distortion due to heat build-up caused by high outdoor temperatures. The co-extruded colorant system creates a molecularly-fused color layer that becomes an integral part of the profile. Unlike painted vinyl, the tough acrylic bronze color layer is scratch-resistant and extremely durable.

Glass

The EnergyCore multi-slide patio door features LoĒ3-366 triple silver insulated glass. In warm weather, LoĒ3-366 glass reduces solar heat gain, minimizes interior glare and lowers inside glass temperature, helping to reduce cooling costs. In cool weather, LoĒ3-366 glass provides outstanding thermal performance with warmer inside glass surfaces to help save energy and maintain comfort during cold winter months.
